Provider Website Functionality
The Provider website communicates information to providers about CGI's review processes. The public site includes contact information and links to medical filing information from other websites. General information is also available about correspondence that CGI mails to providers on specific claims. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) are displayed to the public without requiring them to contact CGI by phone, email, or in person.
Detailed claim information is protected under federal law and access to such information is restricted to providers only. The Provider website allows providers access to the status of their claims that are under review; however, the public does not have access to this information.
The website displays three basic sections: General links are on the left, a site navigation menu is below the banner across the top, and the content area is in the lower right portion of the screen.

Overview

Provider Authentication
The Provider website allows a provider access to the status of their claims that are under review. This information is protected under federal law, and is restricted to prevent other providers or individuals from viewing it. Claim information is accessed using Knowledge-Based authentication. A provider has three options of accessing the Provider claim information section of the website:
  1. Provider Number and Letter ID;
  2. Provider Number and Claim Amount;
  3. NPI and Letter ID
Login Options
To log in, providers should click the “Providers” link in the top navigation bar. The website then displays the Provider Login page allowing the user to enter their Provider Number or NPI for identification. After the user enters one of these identification numbers and clicks the “Continue” link, the website displays the prompt for the knowledge-based authentication information.
Login by Provider ID / Claim Amount
Providers have the option of logging into the Provider website using “Billed Charges” (the total amount the facility originally billed to Medicaid) for claims under review. The website retains claim data for a period of one year, and allows a provider to indicate the amount billed as knowledge-based authentication information.
After the user enters valid knowledge-based information and clicks the “Login” link, the website displays the provider options menu.

Login by Provider ID / Letter ID
Providers may have the option of logging into the Provider website using a CGI-provided Letter ID. Any correspondence CGI sends to the provider may include a Letter ID. This Letter ID is the knowledge-based information, and the Provider should treat it as confidential information.
In general, the knowledge-based information may be used to authenticate on the website for a period of one year. If a valid Letter ID is identified, the website directs the user to enter the knowledge-based information that was mailed within a specified date range. The stated date range depends on the correspondence that CGI has mailed, and varies from provider to provider.
After the user enters a Provider ID, a valid Letter ID, and clicks the “Login” link, the website displays the provider details page.
